After playing the same Keno numbers for decades, a Lobethal woman had decided she would change them - until she tried them one last time and won $50,000.

The South Australian scored the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 220322 047, drawn 22 March 2022.

Sharing her excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner recounted the moment she discovered her life-changing win.

“I love to play Keno. I always play it,” she shared.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for almost two decades. They’re a mixture of birthdays and other special numbers.

“I was about to give up on these numbers, but I thought I’d give them one more go, and that’s when I had the win.

“I won this prize on the first draw, so I was in the newsagency when it happened.

“I immediately screamed when I saw the win. I was in complete shock!

“The newsagency lady working gave me a big high five and a hug. We were so happy. It was fantastic!

“Straight after, I FaceTimed my family and told them, which made it so special. We were all cheering and crying.

“My partner wanted to celebrate and go for a nice dinner, but I wanted to stay in. So instead, we ordered some pizzas and picked up some wine.

“I’m going to use the prize to fix my teeth. We don’t get away much either, so it would be nice to go away for a weekend soon.”

The South Australian purchased her winning ticket at newsXpress Lobethal, 49A Main Street, Lobethal.

newsXpress Lobethal team member Gaby Cornelius said her entire team was in celebration following the win.

“How exciting is this!” she said.

“We’re over the moon for our winner and wish her all the best. Hopefully, she enjoys it.

“It’s incredible to have helped make one of our customers $50,000 richer. We can’t wait to do it again!

“She checked her ticket in here, so we were a part of her winning moment, making it that special.”

In 2021, there were more than 4.78 million Keno wins across South Australia, worth more than 98.8 million. This included 36 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $6.29 million.
