A hardworking Logan grandmother is dreaming of the endless ways she’ll enjoy an extra $1,000 a week for the next five years after scratching the top prize on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning $5 Live the Life ticket was purchased at Marsden Newsagency, Shop 15, Marsden Park Shopping Centre, Marsden.
The woman visited Golden Casket this morning to claim her prize, not long after discovering her life-changing fortune.
“I only scratched the ticket about half an hour ago!” she exclaimed.
“I had to send a photo of it to my sister to see what she thought it meant!
“I still can’t believe it! We jumped straight in the car and came here to make sure it was true!
“I hardly ever buy scratchies and today I thought ‘maybe I’ll buy two’ then I went home and scratched the first one and came straight here! I haven’t scratched the second one yet!”
The generous mum was overwhelmed with emotion when she explained how much her unexpected prize would mean to her family.
“It will definitely help out our family a lot,” she said.
“I’ll be using the prize to support my children and really spoil my grandchildren.
“It will really take the financial pressure off and make everything a whole lot easier!”
Marsden Newsagency owner Manu Grewal said he was over-the-moon to hear his outlet had sold its first top prize winning ticket.
“I’m on cloud nine! It’s so great to hear we’ve sold our first top prize!” he exclaimed.
“I’m so proud of the staff at my store and just so excited that one of our customers has had a big win, as we’ve only been open a few months.
“I hope this is the beginning of many!
“Congratulations to her. I hope this is really life-changing and she enjoys her very bright future.”
