A Logan man is on the hunt for a new home after winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslander held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3969 on Saturday 3 August 2019, with each entry taking home a division one prize of $446,898.09.
Confirming his prize with a Golden Casket official this afternoon, the winner revealed the exciting news was still sinking in.
“Thank you,” he said.
“It’s a nice sum of money. It will help, that’s for sure.
“I checked my entry online yesterday morning and that’s when I realised I’d won division one.
“I couldn’t believe it!”
The regular player shared his windfall would give him the freedom to upgrade his home.
“I’m going to pay some bills to start with,” he said.
“I might even put down a deposit on a house!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Gatton News Gifts & Stationery, Shop 6 Railway Street, Gatton.
Gatton News Gifts & Stationery owner Darryl Spicer said he was ecstatic to have sold another division one winning entry.
“This is the second division one winning entry we’ve sold just this year!” he exclaimed.
“Gatton has been a very lucky region lately. In April one of our customers won division one in Wednesday Gold Lotto.
“All our regular customers today were hoping to be the winner but everyone is very happy for this man.
“Congratulations to him and we hope he enjoys spending his windfall!”
Gatton Saturday Gold Lotto division one win remains unclaimed
Golden Casket officials are still waiting to hear from a Gatton resident or visitor to the region who won division one in a Saturday Gold Lotto draw almost one month ago.
The Queensland winner held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3961, drawn Saturday 6 July 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $774,838.34.
The entry is unregistered, which means Golden Casket officials have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news.
The winning ticket was purchased at Gatton Plaza Newsagency, Shop 7-8, Gatton Plaza, Gatton.
Golden Casket spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was eager to unite the player with their prize.
“If you realise you are holding the division one winning ticket, contact Golden Casket on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3969 on Saturday 3 August 2019 were 44, 28, 32, 3, 5 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 27.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3969, four from Victoria, two each from New South Wales and Queensland and one from Tasmania.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 227 so far this calendar year, including 96 won by Golden Casket customers.
