A Mackay man who was busy doing some household chores has had a welcome distraction, discovering he won more than $100,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

As well as winning the 1st Prize, the man also won a consolation prize 0f $2,000, boosting his total bounty to $102,000.

A Golden Casket official broke the news to the winner this afternoon, who had no idea he’d won $102,000.

“Oh wow! That is lovely!” he laughed.

“That is good. No, that is just amazing!

“What a nice surprise for a Wednesday.

“It’s certainly a great win before Christmas.

“I was just doing a few little chores around the house when I saw your call. I didn’t answer because it was from a private number and I never usually answer those calls.

“Then you called again, and I thought it must be important.

“Well I am so glad I answered! This was not the phone call I was expecting today.

“You really have made my day. Thank you!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke said while he’d need some time to think, he did have a few ideas.

“Gosh I am not really sure. It certainly will come in handy,” he admitted.

“I am probably going to pay off some bills, go on holiday, probably a cruise, and then the rest I will put in the bank for a rainy day.

“I am definitely going to be celebrating tonight. I think we might have to go out and have some drinks.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
