A Magill dad can’t wait to splash some of his sparkling $2.85 million Saturday X Lotto win on a brand-new pool for his beloved young children, knowing their faces will overflow with joy.
The Adelaide local held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4451, drawn Saturday 16 March 2024 and takes home a total prize of $2,857,159.66.
The winning entry was unregistered which means officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward to claim their prize.
The seasoned player discovered his win on the weekend and was left tossing and turning all night wondering if the winning news was even true.
“I certainly wasn’t expecting to win $2.8 million!” he laughed.
“I regularly purchase tickets into Saturday X Lotto as a treat to myself, but I never expect to win big.
“I checked the ticket on Sunday, and oh boy, I had no sleep!
“The thought that it might not be true kept replaying in my head, and I just couldn’t sleep.
“I had to go claim the prize as soon as possible to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I wasn’t one hundred percent sure if it was division one.
“I’ve had a bit better of a sleep last night knowing the prize is claimed and it is true.
“I told a few people here and there; some took a little bit of convincing, but they’re really happy for my family.
“I’ve got a long way to go to know what I’ll do with the prize but the only thing staring at me is an extra hole in the backyard filled with water!
“I’ve got children and they’ve wanted a pool for such a long time. It’s nearly winter but at least they’ll have something to look forward to for next year!
“Thank you so much.”
His winning entry was purchased at Star Discount Chemist Magill, Shops 5 & 6 Magill Shopping Centre, 587 – 591 Magill Road, Magill.
