A Cabramatta man has found himself plunged into a surreal state of disbelief, questioning the very fabric of his reality, after discovering his Instant Scratch-Its ticket scored a top prize of $100,000.

His $5 Outback Bingo Extra Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Mitchum Newsagency, Shop 2, 81-83 John Street, Cabramatta.

The New South Wales resident admitted he was still in shock when officials from The Lott reached out to him this morning.

“It’s crazy and surreal. I feel like I’m in the matrix!” he said.

“My wife and I got a couple of tickets as we’ve had a few things to celebrate lately.

“We won about $10, then just got a couple more tickets each time we won a couple of dollars and I think we ended up going through seven tickets.

“Then randomly, we scratched one that had the top prize of $100,000. I kept double-checking and double-checking.

“I just keep thinking this can’t be real.

“It’s amazing really. I can’t stop feeling like an imposter or something or like someone is going to say it’s just a prank.

“It’s going to be a real help. We’ve already decided to put it towards the house.

“Thank you so much.”

The Mitchum Newsagency team said they were over the moon for their winning customer and wished him all the best with his prize.

In 2023, there were 144 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.1 million in top prizes.
