A Docklands man is ready to embark on a new life for himself after the shocking discovery he won a $4.8 million Set for Life division one prize on the weekend.
The Melburnian in his 50s held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2095, drawn Saturday 1 May 2021. He takes home the division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
The man was oblivious to his win until an official from The Lott delivered the life-changing news.
“Wow! Wow! Wow!” he exclaimed when his win was confirmed.
“You’ve got my heart racing now! I was having a chilled day doing nothing, and now this!
“Holy crap!
“It’s going to take a while for that to sink in.
“I’ve been playing Set for Life for a while now, but I’ve never really thought in any great detail what I would do if I actually won.
“I’ll carry on for the moment until I figure out what to do with my life! This changes everything.
“I’ll still turn up to work this week. I might retire early – this certainly makes it an easy choice when I do it.
“Wow!”
The man’s winning 25-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2095 on Saturday 1 May 2021 were 29, 23, 6, 3, 39, 31 and 44, while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 38.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2095 – the entry from Victoria.
This marks the 77th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the seventh Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 144 so far this calendar year, including 56 won by Tatts customers.
In 2020, there were 16 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $76.8 million during the next 20 years.
By the end of 2020, $44.88 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 70 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
