A Wynyard mum has joked she nearly had a heart attack when she checked her TattsLotto ticket and realised she was the $884,000 winner lottery officials had been looking for.

The Tasmanian winner held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4551, drawn Saturday 1 March 2025. Each entry scored $884,118.73.

Although the division one winning entry was registered to The Lott Members Club, officials from The Lott were unable to make contact with the winner on the details provided to deliver the life-enhancing news.

However, as news spread that a TattsLotto prize had landed in the area, the elusive winner finally checked her ticket yesterday afternoon.

“Oh my god! I’m so happy!” she exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“I’ve only just found out.

“I heard they still hadn’t found the winner, and I told my family they were looking for a winner and asked if they had a ticket in Saturday night’s draw.

“Then I saw on Facebook that it was a registered ticket, and they’d been trying to contact this winner.

“Then I remembered I had a ticket and all these missed calls from a number I didn’t recognise.

“So I got my ticket and checked it! I squealed!

“I use the same numbers every time and have been using them for years, but I have no idea why I chose them.

“I nearly had a heart attack. I was going to vomit before.

“I’ll be too nervous to eat tonight, but I’m thinking a glass of wine might go down alright.

“I would like to go on a holiday and buy a new car. But after that, who knows!”

The woman’s winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Wynyard Newsagency, 96 Goldie Street, Wynyard.

Wynyard Newsagency team member Aneeka Hall said she was glad their winner had been united with their prize.

“It’s great news! Our community will be ecstatic for our division one winner and I’m sure they’ll be happy to hear a major lottery win has landed in Wynyard!” she said.

“It’s been 13 years since our last division one win, which was a $10 million win in Oz Lotto. We’ve been on the edge of our seats waiting to sell another and couldn’t be happier to have done so now.

“There’s no doubt this division one win will be the start of a winning streak, and we will expect many more to come.

“Congratulations to the division one winner and thank you for supporting Wynyard Newsagency!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4551 on 1 March 2025 were 13, 11, 37, 12, 3 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 44 and 2.

Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4551 – two from South Australia and one each from Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.
