A generous Mermaid Waters retiree says she wants to use her $1 million Gold Lotto windfall to give back to the community.
The Gold Coast resident held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4215, drawn Saturday 11 December 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,012,907.10.
When an official from The Lott made contact with the Queensland winner this morning, she took some convincing she was one of the weekend’s division one winners.
“You are kidding, aren’t you?” she began to question.
“I can’t believe it.
“Are you serious? You aren’t tricking me?
“Oh my god. Oh my god.
“Wow! Wow! What a lovely Christmas present!
“How marvellous. That’s fabulous.
“Wow. That’s amazing. Thank you so much.
“I am retired, so this will be very, very nice,” she said.
“I have a long list of things I’d love to do should I one day win the lottery.
“I’d love to do some charity work in regional Queensland and take all my friends on a lovely holiday.
“It will be amazing!”
Her 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Supercentre News, Shop C19, Q Super Centre, Cnr Markeri & Bermuda Street, Mermaid Waters.
Supercentre News team member Kerry Shaw said she couldn’t be happier for their local customer.
“I was super excited when I found out we’d sold a division one winning entry,” she said.
“The last division one win we had was in 2018, so we were certainly ready for the next one.
“Congratulations to the winner!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4215 on 11 December 2021 were 39, 27, 37, 35, 12 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 2.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4215 – two each in Victoria and Western Australia, and one each in New South Wales and Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 206 so far this financial year, including 46 won by Golden Casket customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Saturday Gold Lotto created 174 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 341 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $435.21 million.
