A Reedy Creek couple is swapping legroom woes for champagne flows as they jet off in business class for the first time following their $2.5 million win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Gold Coast residents held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4559, drawn Saturday 29 March 2025. Each entry scored $2.5 million.
The winning entry was unregistered which means officials from The Lott were unable to reach out to the ticketholder and had to wait for them to check their tickets and come forward.
“Is it real? Has it really happened?” the winning husband questioned when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I don’t think it’s really sunk in. You always dream of it happening but never expect it to happen to you.
“My wife always puts a ticket into Saturday Gold Lotto, and I only ever put a ticket on when there’s a big draw. There was $20 million up for grabs on the weekend, so I decided to give it a shot.
“She said to me on Sunday, ‘Can you check my Lotto for me?’. I scanned her ticket, and it came up with a $25 win. I then checked my ticket, and it came up with $2.5 million. I couldn’t believe it!
“I thought to myself, ‘No, that can’t be right!’. I checked it again and again.
“It was really hard to convince my wife. She didn’t believe the win at all. I told her to go down and visit the local newsagency and see if they had any signs hanging up about the division one win.
“The next thing I knew, she came back and said people were talking about the win and were wondering who had taken home the prize! She then started to believe me.
“Thank you very much.”
The winning husband shared the multi-million-dollar prize will allow them to help their daughter and sightsee the world, starting with a lavish getaway to Europe.
“We’re both retired and thankfully we’re still pretty active, so there’s no doubt that we will do a lot of travelling,” he said.
“I dare say we’ll start with Europe; a holiday to Europe will be on the cards. I’m also quite tall so I struggle with economy, but now we can go business class – for the first time in our lives!
“We will certainly help our daughter too. We’ll put some of the prize in investment for a few months.
“It’s something we don’t want to waste.”
The division one winning entry was purchased at TSG Reedy Creek, Shop 3 Reedy Creek Village, 1 Kingsmore Boulevard, Reedy Creek.
TSG Reedy Creek owner Nishchint Singh said he was thrilled to have sold his first division one winning entry.
“We’re very happy to have sold our first division one winning entry in just six months of our business tenure,” he said.
“We’ve started to decorate our store and hang posters everywhere. We’ve also distributed chocolates to our customers.
“Our customers are all very excited, and everyone wants to have a win as well. I’m sure there will be many more customers trying their luck.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4559 on 29 March 2025 were 36, 3, 17, 1, 21 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 30.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4559 – two each in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, and one each in Victoria and the ACT.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 355 so far in FY25, including 89 won by Golden Casket customers.
In 2024, Saturday Gold Lotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 316 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $400.2 million.
