A Mount Barker man is still reeling from the shock of discovering his entry into the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto $20 million Superdraw scored him a division one prize worth $2.5 million.
The happy winner held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4129, drawn Saturday 13 February 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $2,500,000.
Sharing his disbelief with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner recounted the moment he discovered his multi-million-dollar win.
“I didn’t believe it! Things like that don’t happen to people like me!” he exclaimed.
“I was at home, and I checked the app and saw that I had won. I wasn’t sure if it was real or not.
“My wife was in the shower, so I told her to hurry up and get out so she could double-check it for me.
“She asked if it was good news or bad news so I told her it was bad news so she would get out right away. I couldn’t wait! I was in shock.
“When she got out, she saw me shaking and asked what happened. I told her we were millionaires, and she didn’t believe me!
“We pretty much went straight to bed after that. But I didn’t sleep! It’s still so unbelievable!
“I play every week and usually just grab a six-game entry, but when there is a big draw, I splurge a bit and get a 25-game entry.
“Thank god I did that on Saturday!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the retiree revealed he was keen to explore his own backyard.
“I think we’ll go on a bit of a holiday!” he declared.
“We’ll stay local and explore as much of South Australia as we can.
“I’m retired, but I was contemplating going back to work for a bit to keep me busy.
“I don’t think I’ll bother with that now!”
The overjoyed winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 25-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4129 on 13 February 2021 were 43, 22, 1, 4, 3 and 43, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 25.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4129 – two each in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 282 so far this financial year, including 30 won by Tatts customers.
In 2020, Saturday X Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday X Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
