A Mount Warren Park man is thanking his $100,000 instant windfall on his decision to have a “red hot go” at an Instant Scratch-Its ticket that caught his eye.
The Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at TSG Mount Warren News, Shop 4, 20-30 Mt Warren Boulevard, Mount Warren Park.
Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott, the Queensland winner said the windfall came as a complete surprise.
“I was over the moon! I couldn’t believe it,” he exclaimed.
“I walked into the newsagency ready to purchase an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“I saw one on display that caught my eye, so I decided to give it a red hot go and grabbed some.
“Later that day, I went home to scratch them with my wife. It came to my attention that I won $100,000 on the last ticket we scratched!
“We were both shocked. I had to look three times to make sure it was real.
“It’s fantastic!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his $100,000 prize, the jubilant bloke said he was still too blown away to make any concrete plans.
“I’m really not sure what I’ll spend the money on. I’m too bewildered to think of anything at this stage,” he revealed.
“We hope to celebrate the win sometime soon.”

TSG Mount Warren News owner Anil Kumar Balia said he was overjoyed to have sold a winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a local.
“Wow! It feels absolutely fantastic to sell a top prize Instant Scratch-Its win, and even better it’s from a regular and local customer in a tight-knit community!” he said.
“We’re all going through hard times lately, so it feels great to have somewhat changed someone’s life.
“I believe we sold an Instant Scratch-Its top prize three years ago now. It’s been a while.
“This win was a long time coming! Hopefully, it’s the start to a winning streak.”
In 2020, there were 177 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $16 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 32.3 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $281.17 million. This equates to more than three-quarters of a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
