More than a week after the draw, a Mudgee man has just discovered his wife gifted him a $200,000 surprise for his birthday.

The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1528, drawn Monday 19 April 2021.

Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the winner said he’d suddenly had an unforgettable birthday.

“That’s wonderful,” he laughed.

“It’s just wonderful. Absolutely terrific.

“I’m really shaken up.

“I’ve had this ticket in my pocket this whole time.

“My wife gave it to me for my birthday. What a birthday present!

“I’ve been $200,000 richer for the last week without knowing.

“It’s lovely.”

When asked what he planned to do with a spare $200,000, he instantly thought of his loved ones.

“I’m going to be able to help my family,” he explained.

“And that’s a great feeling.”

The winning entry was purchased at Mudgee Newsagency, 77 Market Street, Mudgee.

Mudgee Newsagency owner Rachel Brown said she was excited for their local winner.
