A Harrington local says his toes started shaking when he heard the life-changing news he scored a division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales player held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4031 on Saturday 7 March 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $702,073.22.
Sharing his disbelief with an official from the Lott this morning, the Mid North Coast man revealed his week had been turned upside down by the toe-tapping win.
“I’m getting more nervous by the second,” he laughed.
“Is it true?
“I’ve just come down to the newsagency to check my ticket like I do every Tuesday and I just cannot believe it!
“Thank you. Thank you.
“I’m shaking. It’s amazing. My toes are even shaking!
“I’m numb. I can’t think at all.
“I’ve been playing for years and years and you always dream about winning but you just don’t think it will happen to you!
“I can’t wait to tell my wife! I think she’s going to faint.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his division one fortune, the dad said his lifestyle was all about to change with more time to enjoy the good things in life.
“I’m semi-retired but I’ll be well retired now!” he exclaimed.
“I will be able to settle a few bills and it just make things a lot easier for us.
“I’m a pretty simple man and I’m easy going but this will make our life a lot more comfortable and we will be able to help out our children.
“It’s incredible!”
The winning entry was purchased at Harrington Newsagency, Shop 12, Harrington Waters Shopping Centre, 1-7 Caledonia Street, Harrington.
Harrington Newsagency owner Tracey Tynan said she had to look twice when she read her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning ticket!” she exclaimed.
“All our customers have been coming in and they are just so excited for the winner.
“It’s fantastic for the community of Harrington.
“We are so very happy for our winner! Congratulations to him, may all his dreams come true!”
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4031 on Saturday 7 March 2020 were 7, 33, 34, 40, 28 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 38 and 1.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4031 – two each from Victoria and New South Wales, and one each from South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 263 so far this financial year, including 82 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Between 1 January and 31 December 2019, there were 289 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $333.41 million.
