A mystery Shepparton shopper has kicked off the week unlike any other, planning how they’ll enjoy a spare $500,000 after scratching the top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning $20 ticket was purchased at Fairleys Lotto, 177 -193 Numurkah Road, Shepparton.
However, the mystery of who the winner is and how they plan to enjoy their fortune will forever remain unsolved as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Fairleys Lotto manager Helen Harlow said the win marked an exciting milestone for the outlet.
“We’ve been in the business for 11 years and this is the first time we’ve sold a top prize winning ticket,” she said.
“My team and I would like to congratulate the winner and wish them all the best with their prize.
“After the horrendous year we’ve had, what a great way to finish off the year!”
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was sure the Victorian player was delighted by their win.
“What an excellent time to score an instant win of $500,000!” she exclaimed.
“While we don’t know how our winner will enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they’ll will be smiling from ear to ear knowing their bank balance is about to balloon by a few extra zeroes.
“Other winners have told us they’ve used their instant windfalls to upgrade their car, complete some home renovations, or shout their family to a great celebratory dinner.
“No matter how our latest Instant Scratch-Its top prize winner enjoy their bounty, we are sure it will be a welcome boost!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
