A Wollongong player has made a mid-week discovery they’ll never forget, checking their Saturday Lotto ticket to learn they’re a millionaire.

The New South Wales player held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3967, drawn Saturday 27 July 2019. Each division one winner takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

However, how the winner plans to spend their Saturday Lotto windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The division one winning entry was purchased at Blooms the Chemist Woonona, 401 Princes Highway, Woonona.

Blooms the Chemist Woonona team member Julia Crago said the win marked a major milestone for the outlet.

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry so the party has been happening in store all week!” she exclaimed.

“We have decked out our lottery counter with balloons and streamers to give it that party atmosphere,” she said.

“All our customers have been so happy for the winner. This is incredibly exciting for our region.

“It truly is a warm feeling knowing this is going to change someone’s life forever. We wish them all the best!”

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said while we might never know how the Wollongong player planned to spend their prize were sure it had changed their life forever.

“What an incredible mid-week discovery to realise you are now a millionaire!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve spoken to most of the other division one winners from the weekend’s draw and they’ve all shared how their prize will change their life.

“Many of them have told us they’d lost a little bit of sleep since hearing the news, imagining how they’re going to enjoy their windfall.

“The first thing that came to mind for so many of them was spoiling their family and friends and we have no doubt this winner will be doing the same!”

In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3967 on 27 July 2019 were 35, 13, 11, 23, 27 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 5.

Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3967, four from Queensland, two from New South Wales and one each from Victoria and Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 214 so far this calendar year, including 61 won by New South Wales Lotteries customers.

In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
