A Narellan woman has been left in sheer disbelief after realising a ticket she had been holding for almost two weeks had bagged her $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales resident won the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1665 on Monday 29 April 2024.
The winning woman was completely oblivious to her win until she checked her ticket on Friday and turned her day completely upside-down.
“You’re joking!” she cheered when an official from The Lott confirmed the good news.
“I just can’t believe it. It’s amazing.
“The most I’ve ever won on anything is about seventy-five bucks!
“I’m so overwhelmed. I’m glad you’ve confirmed it now because I didn’t want to tell anyone in case it wasn’t true.
“Now that I’ve spoken to you, I can call everyone and tell them the wonderful news.
“I’ve got a dentist appointment today, so I can’t wait for that to be over. Then I’ll be able to celebrate.”
When asked how she planned to use her newfound lottery loot, the Sydneysider was too stunned to make any immediate decisions.
“I haven’t got a clue!” she said.
“I don’t know really. I’m just in shock. I think I’ll take some time to think about it.”
The winning entry of one random number was purchased from Narellan Newsagency, Shop 33, Narellan Town Centre, 326 Camden Valley Way.
The Narellan Newsagency team said they couldn’t be happier for the winning customer and wished her all the best with her prize.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $18.52 million for draw 1670, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.02 million for draw 10848.
In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
