A Nerang woman has promised to immediately hand in her resignation after winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw.
The Gold Coast resident held one of the 11 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4153, drawn Saturday 1 May 2021. She scores a division one prize of $1,818,181.82.
Confirming her win with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the winning woman explained she’d been on cloud nine since making the discovery.
“I checked the ticket on Sunday!” she exclaimed.
“I couldn’t believe it. I had to run down to my son’s house and get him to double-check it.
“Thank you. It’s wonderful.
“Oh my god. Oh my god. It couldn’t have come at a better time.
“It’s really wonderful!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her $1.8 million prize, she explained a big change was on its way.
“It changes things quite a lot,” she said.
“I’m going to pay the mortgage off.
“I’ll stop working immediately and finally be able to retire.
“I’ll be able to help the kids and grandchildren out.
“I am so, so grateful!”
Her 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased at News Extra Nerang Mall, Shop G17, Nerang Mall, Gilston Street, Nerang.
News Extra Nerang Mall owner Porshe Cheung said he was simply ecstatic to know one of his customers had walked away with an incredible prize.
