A Newcastle man is eyeing off a new set of wheels and planning how else he can treat himself after scoring one of the top prizes of $150,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The Edgeworth resident purchased his top prize winning $10 Jumbo Crossword at Edgeworth Newsagency, Shop 9, 720 Main Road, Edgeworth.
Sharing his exciting with an official from the Lott this morning, the man explained the winning moment as one he will never forget.
“Thank you!” he laughed.
“It was a bit of shock! It felt surreal.
“I was just at home when I scratched the ticket, I couldn’t believe it!
“I’m a regular player but I’ve never won anything like this, usually it’s $20 or $50 here and there.
“It’s fantastic. It’s a once in a lifetime thing, so I’m enjoying every moment of it.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant windfall, the Newcastle player had one thing on the top of his mind.
“I think I’m going to buy myself a new car,” he declared.
“It’s something I’ve wanted for a really long time!
“Then with the rest, I’m going to treat myself to lots of nice things.
“It’s great!”
Edgeworth Newsagency owners Jo and Kate Atkinson said the outlet had been on a winning streak.
“We’ve owned the store for 18 months now and in that time we’ve sold three top prize winning tickets,” they said.
“We absolutely love seeing locals win these life-changing prizes. It’s a great feeling!
“Congratulations to our latest winner!”
