A Newcastle man was initially so stunned by the revelation he’d snagged $100,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries draw that he hung up when lottery officials tried to contact him.
The New South Wales resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11070, drawn Thursday 23 April 2026 and looks forward to a neat $100,000 prize.
When he eventually stayed on the line long enough to hear the news, he erupted in celebration.
“Woo-hoo! I’m so happy,” he said when he called back an official from The Lott.
“I’ve got to apologise for hanging up on you earlier. I just got nervous.
“I’ve been playing for decades now, and I wasn’t sure if I’d ever win a major prize.
“It feels amazing. It’s surreal.
“I’ll be buying a trailer boat. It’s something I’ve always wanted and now I can make it a reality.
“I’m just so happy. Thanks so much!”
His winning entry of 10 consecutive numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.48 million for draw 1783, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.32 million for draw 11071.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
