A Newton man has confessed he is still trying to ‘get over the news’ he is over $594,000 richer from scoring division one in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The east Adelaide resident held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 3983, drawn Saturday 21 September 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $594,970.80.
Sharing his joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning, the winner recounted how he discovered the life-changing win.
“It’s great news! It’s such a blessing!” he exclaimed.
“I was just at home on the weekend when I thought I’d check my ticket.
“I scanned it on the app and I couldn’t believe it when it said I had won.
“I checked it on the computer just to make sure.
“I’m still trying to get over the news to be honest!
“I play X Lotto every week but have never won anything like this!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his X Lotto windfall, the loving dad said he thought of his family first.
“It’s come at a great time for us,” he explained.
“We’ve just moved into a new house so it will give us a chance to sit back and relax knowing it is paid off.
“We will be able to set our daughter up for the future.
“I won’t be retiring early or anything like that. What’s the point when I don’t mind working?
“It will just be good to sit back and think about how we can enjoy the prize.”
The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 14-game QuickPick entry at Gardens Newton Newsagency, Shop 13, Target Newton Shopping Centre, Corner Newton & Gorge Roads, Newton.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto and X Lotto created 193 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3983 on Saturday 21 September 2019 were 40, 14, 32, 33, 43 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 12.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in X Lotto draw 3983, two each from Victoria and New South Wales and one each from Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 272 so far this calendar year, including 26 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, there were 244 division one winning X Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $286.6 million.
