A Nightcliff retiree has found himself speechless after discovering the million-dollar news he scored division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Darwin local held the only division one winning entry across Australia in TattsLotto draw 3941, drawn Wednesday 22 January 2020, taking home a division one prize of $1,000,000.
Confirming his million-dollar win with a Tatts official this morning, the man explained he’d just checked his ticket at his local newsagency.
“Thank you!” he laughed eventually.
“Wow. I can’t believe it.
“What a great morning to discover I’m a millionaire!
“I’ve been playing for decades. It’s great news.
“I can’t believe it.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the winner said he’d need to let the news sink in.
“I have no idea,” he laughed.
“I’m going to have to really think about it.
“I’ll certainly be able to enjoy my retirement.”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Nightcliff Newsagency, Shop 15, 159 Dickward Drive, Nightcliff.
Nightcliff Newsagency owner Tracey-Ann Chin said she couldn’t be happier for her regular customer.
“We were exetremely excited when we realised we’d sold the division one winning entry,” she said.
“We’re so glad to see this prize has gone to one of our local customers.
“2020 has already been a winning year for us, just a couple of weeks ago we sold a division two winning TattsLotto entry.
“We hope there’s plenty more this year!”
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3941 on Wednesday 22 January 2020 were 31, 23, 2, 13, 4, and 38 while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 45.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3941 – from Northern Territory.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 221 so far this financial year, including 63 won by Tatts customers.
Between 1 January and 31 December 2019, there were 108 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $106 million.
