A Norwood university student has laughed with glee after this morning discovering she is $573,000 richer from winning division one in Saturday’s X Lotto draw.
The studious undergraduate held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 3979, drawn Saturday 7 September 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $573,928.68.
Sharing her joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning, the happy woman in her 20s couldn’t keep a lid on her giggles.
“Thank you so much! It’s amazing! To be honest I just can’t believe it!” she exclaimed between excited laughter.
“I had no idea I had won anything. I had two entries into the weekend’s draw. One with numbers I chose myself and one with QuickPick numbers.
“I had checked the ticket with the numbers I had chosen myself and saw that I had won $11.
“It wasn’t until I saw the email come through that I realised I had won something else. I checked online and that’s when I saw I had won a lot more than $11 on that ticket!”
Despite the win, the thrilled student confessed she planned to attend this afternoon’s classes.
“I’ve got classes today so I will be heading off to uni soon,” she explained.
“I just want to laugh! I don’t know why! I’m just so happy!
“I think I’ll just be sitting in the corner laughing to myself every time I remember that I have won!
“It’s a good Monday!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her windfall, the young woman said it would go a long way to supporting her continued study.
“I don’t know what I will spend it on just yet. I need some time to think about it,” she admitted.
“It will really help me continue my studies knowing I don’t have to worry about money.”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 10-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3979 on Saturday 7 September 2019 were 10, 36, 14, 8, 1 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 15.
