Aussie dad of the year?  Wagga Wagga dad gifts family $15 million Oz Lotto win

A Wagga Wagga family had the surprise of their lives this week after taking home a $15 million Oz Lotto bounty without realising they even had an entry into the draw.

It turns out the family patriarch has been running a family lottery syndicate for years, unbeknown to the other family members.

“Fifteen million dollars?” one of the adult children began to question.

“Are you sure about this?

“We didn’t even know we had an entry into last night’s draw!

“Oh my god. Is this some kind of joke?

“I think we’re are in shock. We had no idea!”

While the family members couldn’t congregate to celebrate, they did start a group teleconference to start making plans for their multi-million-dollar windfall.

A great time to win! Young Adelaide dad scores Set for Life

They say timing is everything and the timing of an Adelaide man’s Set for Life division one win this week couldn’t be any better.

“It is a wonderful feeling,” he exclaimed.

“We are a young family and we have a baby, so this will set us up for the rest of our lives.

“I recently lost my job because of COVID-19, and so this just gives me complete relief. I have been so stressed lately, but now I am so happy.

“This gives us complete financial freedom. The possibilities are endless with this prize. This is a great feeling to have. I couldn’t be happier!”

A Baulkham Hills healthcare worker was heading out the door for another hectic day at work when she took the call that confirmed she was now a millionaire.

But winning division one in a Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw this week didn’t stop this hardworking woman from going to work and continuing to look after her patients.

“Oh my god!” she exclaimed, bursting into tears.

“Really?! I can’t believe it.

“You’ve made my day, my year! This is the best news ever. You’re an angel.

“I only play every now and then. I was out walking the other day and I wasn’t feeling well. I was anxious about everything going on so I thought I would get a ticket. This is more than what I could ever want.”

The man explained he had simple needs and only wanted something to help him get a good night’s sleep.

“I’m giving it all away to my family!” he declared.

“I’m going to pay off my children’s mortgages and give some to my friends.

“I’m going to buy my neighbour a new car as he often drives me around. Now we can drive in style.

“I don’t need it for myself. I’ve got a nice little house and people to look after me.

“The only thing I might buy myself is a nice new comfortable bed.”
