For Aussies who have a lottery win at the top of their Christmas wish list, next Tuesday’s $70 million Oz Lotto draw is set to provide a golden opportunity to turn that dream into a festive reality.

During the past eight Oz Lotto draws, no entry has held the seven winning numbers in a single game panel needed to score division one, pushing the jackpot to $70 million for next week’s draw.

While no entries scored the division one prize in tonight’s draw, a total of 733,002 prizes worth more than $17.5 million were won in divisions two to seven. This includes seven winners who each scored a $91,891.95 division two prize.

Up to one in five Australian adults are expected to have an entry in their hands before the draw’s close at 7.30pm AEST on Tuesday 19 December 2023.

The last time Oz Lotto offered a $70 million draw was over three years ago in June 2019.

So far this year, there have been 13 Oz Lotto division one wins across Australia that have collectively taken home more than $233 million in prize money.

Of these division one winning entries, three each landed in New South Wales and Victoria, two each in Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia, and one in South Australia.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said the $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot could see Australians from all corners of the country race to grab an entry for a chance to change their Christmas and their life.

“Remarkably, this is the biggest prize Oz Lotto has offered to Australian lottery players in over four years. It’s also the biggest offer of any Australian lottery game in three months,” she said.

“Up to one in five Australian adults are expected to have an entry into the $70 million Oz Lotto draw, with hopes their ticket takes out a division one prize before Christmas Day arrives.

“If someone takes home a slice of the division one prize on Tuesday night, they’ll expect to receive their multi-million-dollar prize in their bank account on 3 January 2024 – setting them up for a bright new year ahead.

“Imagine what you could do with $70 million! The holiday you’ve always thought about, the home you’ve been dreaming of or even the sea change you’ve been craving would be within reach.”

Ms Hobdell said players should register their entries to a player card or online account so they can be immediately contacted should they win big in Tuesday night’s $70 million Oz Lotto draw.

“We’ll be on the edge of our seats eagerly awaiting the results of the Oz Lotto draw and will be standing by ready to reach out to any registered division one winners on Tuesday night,” she said.

“If you see your phone ringing on Tuesday night, it could be us, so make sure you pick up to receive one of the best phone calls imaginable.”

Tickets can be purchased into the $70 million Oz Lotto draw at thelott.com, via The Lott App or at a licensed lottery outlet until 7.30pm AEST on Tuesday 19 December 2023.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1556 on Tuesday 12 December 2023 were 6, 44, 30,42, 19, 39 and 47, while the supplementary numbers were 8, 46 and 33.
