Most people dream of winning Lotto division one once in their lifetime, but a Parramatta dad today discovered he won division one twice in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

Even more remarkably, his double division one win was from the one ticket, where he had accidentally marked two games with the same numbers – the winning numbers in last night’s draw.

The Sydney man scored two of the six division one wins nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3914, on Monday 21 October 2019. The single division one prize was $666,666.67, so the Parramatta dad takes home a total prize of $1,333,333.34.

Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the double division one winner admitted he was still grappling with his good fortune.

“I’m in a state of shock!” he declared.

“You have no idea how this has helped my family.

“I’ll be able to pay off my mortgage and I’m able to help my kids. It’s already been spent mate, but all wisely I can assure you.

“It’s so much appreciated.”

The Lotto winner explained how a happy accident led to his double division one win.

“I’ve been buying lottery tickets for a while now,” he said.

“You can’t dream if you don’t have a ticket. So I buy a ticket!

“I used to just buy QuickPick tickets at random. But then I sat down and saw what numbers were picked out most frequently and least frequently, and just used combinations of those.

“But it wasn’t deliberate that I had two rows of the same numbers. It was just that I had to mark another line on the ticket, so it’s a very happy accident!”

The ecstatic man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked 18-game entry at Parramatta CBD Newsagency, Shop 16, Mayfair Mall, 272-276 Church Street, Parramatta.

Parramatta CBD Newsagency owner William Ho said he couldn’t contain his excitement over his outlet selling its first division one winning entry.

“We’ve been waiting for a long, long time!” he exclaimed.

“We’ve been here for 15 years and we’ve never sold a division one.

“I was very happy this morning when I saw we had sold not one but two division one wins.

“It’s such good news. We wish our customer all the best with their double prize.”
