The search has been called off for Penrith’s newest millionaire, with a Western Sydney shopper this afternoon coming forward to claim their Wednesday Lotto division one prize.

The New South Wales entry was one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3915, on Wednesday 23 October 2019, with each entry taking home a division one prize of $1,000,000.

As the entry was unregistered, NSW Lotteries officials had no way to contact the winner with the dream-come-true news and had to wait for them to come forward.

Today the winner checked their ticket and discovered their million-dollar win.

However, how the newly minted millionaire plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The million-dollar winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket was purchased at Nepean Square Newsagency, Shop 38, Nepean Village, 144 Station Street, Penrith.

Nepean Square Newsagency owner Bill Bahous said he was glad to hear the winner had checked their ticket and realised their good fortune.

“It’s been about two years since we last sold a division one winning entry so we’re incredibly excited,” he said.

“What a weekend this winner will now have after realising they’ve won division one!

“We hope they really enjoy their prize.”

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said while we might never know how the Penrith shopper planned to spend their prize we are sure it has changed their life.

“What better way to start kick off the weekend than discovering you are now a millionaire!” she exclaimed.

“No doubt our winner’s plans for the rest of the year will change when their bank account balloons by a few more zeros!

“Other winners tell us they love to share their windfall with their families, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgages or buy a new home.

“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure it has changed their lives forever!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 193 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3915 on Wednesday 23 October 2019 were 2, 14, 24, 8, 20 and 22 while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 41.
