After waiting almost 50 years, a Brighton man this morning received the phone call confirming he’s now a millionaire from the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane player held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4183, drawn Saturday 21 August 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,304,946.92.
When an official from The Lott reached out to the man this morning to break the news, he had no idea a life-changing prize was coming his way.
“Oh sh**! I can see it on my screen!” he screamed with delight after checking his ticket on his phone.
“Oh my god. That’s unbelievable.
“I am about to head to the doctors, and you ring me up with that news.
“That is absolutely amazing!
“I hadn’t even thought to check that ticket. I’m a bit dumbstruck, to be honest.
“I’ve been waiting about 50 years for this phone call. This is incredible!”
With more than $1 million about to land in his bank account, the happy retiree explained he was too overwhelmed to think about what life would hold as a millionaire.
“I have no idea, no idea,” he laughed.
“I will really have to think about it. Oh wow. It hasn’t hit me yet.
“I’ll certainly be able to help the children out. I’ll start with that.”
His life-changing entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4183 on Saturday 21 August 2021 were 40, 34, 43, 35, 6 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 45 and 22.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4183 – three from Queensland and one each from South Australia and the Northern Territory.
