A Pooraka Keno player is ending the month with an additional $50,000 in their bank account after today discovering they scored a Spot 8 Prize last weekend.

The South Australian scored the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 220122 939, drawn 22 January 2022.

However, how the winner plans to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The winning entry was purchased at Foodworks Pooraka, 39 Desmond Avenue, Pooraka.

Foodworks Pooraka owner Cory Shilling said his entire team was over the moon for their local winner.

“It’s amazing, isn’t it!? What a great way to start 2022,” he said.

“I actually sold the ticket to the winner, so I’m especially happy for them. I also checked the ticket and was able to congratulate them in person as well. It was just awesome!

“The entire team is so happy for the winner and hopes they enjoy their Keno prize. We know how excited the winner was and we’re just as excited for them!

“It’s a fantastic win for the Pooraka local, our store and the community, so hopefully we have another big win soon.”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was sure the winner was ecstatic after discovering the exciting news.

“While we may not know how they plan to enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they are very happy to have won a huge $50,000,” she exclaimed.

“Other winners tell us they use their prize to help their families, upgrade their home with renovations, travel around the country or splurge a new car.

“However our winner chooses to use their prize, we hope they enjoy the winning feeling as long as they can.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, there were more than 5 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $133.2 million. This included 37 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners who scored more than $6.37 million.

The Spot 10 prize was won twice during this time – a win worth more than $1.3 million was won by a Croydon Park man in February 2021, while a win with more than $2.4 million was won by Taperoo man in November 2020.
