The Powerball juggernaut is on the rise once again, with the game offering a massive $100 million for next Thursday’s draw.

It’s the second time this year Powerball has offered $100 million – the biggest prize of any Australian lottery game in 2023.

It comes after there have been no division one winners for the past five Powerball draws. The last time there was a Powerball division one winner was on 22 June, when a Bankstown dad pocketed $100 million and became Australia’s second-biggest individual lottery winner.

While no one took home the coveted jackpot prize, there were a total of 1,909,895 prizes worth more than $38.8 million won in divisions two to nine in tonight’s Powerball draw. Among those winners were eight division two winners who each took home a $134,969.60 prize.

Next week’s Powerball draw, draw 1420 on Thursday 3 August 2023, is only the seventh time in the game’s 27-year history that it has offered $100 million.

Up to half of Australia’s adults are expected to have an entry into the draw with the hopes of becoming the nation’s newest multi-millionaire.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said all eyes would be on next week’s Powerball draw to see if the game created back-to-back $100 million winners.

“It was only last month that Powerball crowned the nation’s second-biggest individual lottery winner – a Bankstown dad who got the shock of his life when we called to reveal he’d scored $100 million,” he said.

“Since that momentous draw five weeks ago, we haven’t had a Powerball division one winner. Could our next division one winner also scoop the pool and win $100 million? Only time will tell!

“Powerball has been on a winning streak this year, with nine Powerball division one winning entries across Australia so far in 2023 collectively taking home more than $454 million.

“We’re sure most Powerball players are already dreaming about what they’d do if they joined this exclusive winning club. The holiday of a lifetime, immediate retirement, your perfect home and all your other dreams could be a reality.”

To ensure you’re in with a chance to win the $100 million jackpot, Mr Hart reminded players to purchase an entry either in-store, online at thelott.com or via the app or in-store before 7.30pm AEST on Thursday 3 August 2023.

He also encouraged players to register their entry to a player card or online account.

“If you win the jackpot, you’ll want to know immediately. By registering your entry, we’ll be able to reach out to you straight after the draw to confirm the life-changing news,” he said.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1419 were 19, 14, 18, 22, 16, 4 and 33, and the Powerball number was 18.
