Powerball has rocketed to $60 million for next Thursday’s draw (19 March 2020) after the winning combination of numbers eluded Australian lottery players tonight.
Tonight, for the fifth Powerball draw in a row, no one entry held all the seven winning numbers and the all-important Powerball number needed to deliver division one.
While no entries scored the $40 million division one prize tonight, a total of 1,042,483 prizes worth more than $19.48 million were won in divisions two to nine. This included 5 division two winners who each took home $107,856.40.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the Powerball jackpot juggernaut appeared to be on the rise once again.
“Last year, Powerball climbed to some dizzying heights and delivered some breathtaking moments, including Australia’s biggest ever lottery jackpot of $150 million,” he said.
“After there were no division one winners tonight, the jackpot jumps to $60 million and could well be on its way to the top once again.
“So far this year, Powerball has only crowned one division one winner – a Caloundra woman who pocketed $60 million and declared she wouldn’t be going back to work ever again.
“We can’t wait to welcome our second Powerball division one winner for 2020. Perhaps it will be next week with the $60 million draw.
“In the meantime, anyone with an entry in tonight’s draw should check their ticket as there were still more than $19.48 million in prizes won across divisions two to nine.”
The numbers drawn tonight in Powerball draw 1243 on Thursday 12 March 2020 were 20, 10, 17, 28, 19, 33 and 26 and the Powerball was number 2.
The $60 million Powerball draw 1244 will take place on Thursday 19 March 2020.
Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via the Lott mobile app.
The Lott’s division one winning tally across all Australian lottery games has now reached 265 so far this financial year.
