Powerball is offering Australians a life-changing opportunity this festive season, with a huge $100 million jackpot up for grabs in next week’s draw on Thursday 28 November 2024 (draw 1489).
Next Thursday’s $100 million Powerball jackpot is the equal third-biggest prize offered by any Australian lottery game in 2024. It’s also the sixth-biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history.
It comes after there were no division one winners during the past four Powerball draws.
While no one took home the multi-million-dollar jackpot in tonight’s Powerball draw, there were a total of 1,593,942 prizes worth more than $31.89 million in divisions two to nine. Among those winners were two division two winners who each took home a $443,998.95 prize.
Up to half of Australia’s adults are expected to have an entry into next week’s $100 million Powerball draw.
So far this year, three Aussies have each pocketed a $100 million Powerball prize.
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said Aussies would be eagerly eyeing next week’s Powerball draw in hopes of becoming a newly-minted multi-millionaire just in time for Christmas.
“It’s been more than three months since Powerball last offered $100 million to Australia lottery players – on that occasion, the entire prize was won by an Aspley woman,” she said.
“Only time will tell if Powerball crowns another $100 million winner next Thursday or if the jackpot climbs even higher.
“If just one player wins this entire $100 million prize, they’ll not only expect to receive a multi-million-dollar boost to their bank account, but they’ll also share the crown of Australia’s third biggest individual lottery winner ever.
“Christmas is a time for dreaming big, and with $100 million on the line in Powerball, those dreams could become a reality this festive season and beyond.”
Entries into next week’s $100 million Powerball draw close at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday 28 November.
“The only way players can be in with a chance to secure the multi-million-dollar prize is by grabbing a ticket either in-store, online or via The Lott app,” Ms Hobdell said.
“Our biggest tip to players is to register their entries to a player card or online account. By registering your entry with The Lott Members Club, we’ll be able to reach out to you immediately after the draw should you win big.”
So far this year, there have been 16 Powerball division one wins that have pocketed more than $661 million. Eight of these wins were in New South Wales, five were in Queensland, and one each in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia
During this time, Powerball offered a $200 million jackpot, the biggest in Australian history, and an Adelaide man who won $150 million became the nation’s biggest individual lottery winner.
