A Randwick woman strolling along the coast this morning was startled by two surprises: a whale breaching out of the ocean and the revelation she had won $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Sydney player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1405, drawn 29 July 2019.
While the woman had registered her entry to her Players Club card, a NSW Lotteries official was only able to make contact with her this morning to deliver the winning news.
“Oh fabulous! Thank you so much,” she laughed.
“I hadn’t checked this ticket so I had no idea.
“I’ll have to hold this ticket next to my heart now.
“Actually I saw in the newsagency they were urging people to check their tickets. He was very excited. I thought I had checked my tickets, but I must not have checked this one.
“Tell me again how much I’ve won?
“Oh! Oh! I’m sitting down at the cliffs and there are whales out there splashing. It’s all happening today.”
The startled winner shared she had some initial thoughts on how she’d use her prize.
“It will make a difference to my life,” she said.
“There could well be some home renovations coming up I think.
“I’m going to keep playing as I would like to win the big $87 million jackpot as I’ve already got some plans with what I’d do with it. I’d invest most of it and use that for a range of environmental causes I’d love to support.
“There goes another whale! I don’t need to put any money into whales – they seem to be doing alright by themselves,” she laughed.
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of three random numbers at Royal Randwick Newsagency, Shop 16, Royal Randwick Shopping Centre, 73 Belmore Road, Randwick.
Royal Randwick Newsagency owner Eric Tjie said he was thrilled the winner had been united with her prize.
“It’s always great when one of our customers wins,” he said.
“We wish her all the very best with her prize.
“A few years ago we sold the jackpot prize for Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot worth more than $5 million. We wouldn’t mind doing it again!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $87.64 million for draw 1412 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.84 million for draw 10303.
