More than a month after the draw, a Roxby Downs man has finally realised he’d won $150,000 after seeing a post on Facebook about a missing Keno winner.

The winner scored the $150,000 Keno Spot 9 prize in draw 210716631, drawn 16 July 2021.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the South Australian man said he was on cloud nine from his Spot 9 prize.

“I had just popped into the venue for lunch, and I had bought a ticket, but it hadn’t won anything, so when I was leaving, I replayed it,” he explained.

“Then I just left and went home, and I had no idea what happened in the draw.

“It wasn’t until I had heard on Facebook that they were still on the hunt for the mystery Roxby Downs winner, that I even remembered I had a ticket.

“So, I checked the numbers online and that’s when I realised I was the winner.

“I was so shocked! I was on my own, so I couldn’t go and scream and tell anyone, but I just sat there gobsmacked.

“I had been so close before, so I am so glad it’s finally happened!

“I had a few beers that night to celebrate.

“It’s awesome. Thank you so much!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the stoked bloke thought of his family first.

“Well, I will give most of it to my kids,” he shared.

“I might get myself a new car or something as well, but I am not too sure just yet.”

The winning entry was purchased at Roxby Downs Tavern, Richardson Place, Roxby Downs.

Roxby Downs Tavern gaming manager Sam Irvine said the entire venue was ecstatic about the big win.

“It was so exciting when the win went off! Everyone was running around the venue, checking their tickets, hoping it was them,” she shared.

“I actually sold the winning ticket to the gentleman, which is just incredible.

“He came in to thank me just the other day, which was so lovely.

“He seemed like such a deserving winner, and he was so kind, so I really hope he truly enjoys his prize and it makes a positive difference to his life.

“A win like this always creates a buzz in the venue, and we can’t wait for our next one.”
