A Ryde lotteries player has had their life turned upside down after discovering they scored $10 million in last week’s Oz Lotto draw.
The Sydney player held the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1474 on Tuesday 17 May 2022 and takes home $10 million.
However, how they plan to spend their windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate privately.
The division one winning entry was purchased at West Ryde Marketplace News, Shop 14, 14 Anthony Road, West Ryde.
West Ryde Marketplace News manager Manoj Jindal said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry and wished their winner all the best for the future.
“The store sold a Saturday Lotto division one winning entry last year, but this is so exciting because it’s the largest win we’ve ever had,” he said.
“It’s fantastic to hear that the winner has claimed their prize.We hope their future is bright and all of their dreams come true.
“There’s an incredible buzz around the community, and everyone is just so excited that it’s happened in Ryde!”
The Lott spokesperson James Eddy said he was sure the winner was over the moon after their life-changing win.
“While we don’t know how they’ll celebrate or what grand ventures are just over the horizon for this wonderful winner, I’m sure their head was spinning when they realised they’d won $10 million,” he said.
“Other big winners regularly tell us they use their prizes to buy their dream home, treating friends and family, and enjoying a long-overdue holiday.
“Whatever our wonderful winner does with their prize, we hope they’ve loved every minute since their life changed forever.”
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1474 on Tuesday 17 May 2022 were 8, 39, 45, 44, 5, 30, 21, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 1 and 25.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1474 – one in New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 176 so far this calendar year, including 50 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
