More than a week after the draw, a Kelso retiree has just discovered she was the mystery Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot 1st Prize winner lottery officials had been searching for.
The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1528, drawn Monday 17 May 2021.
Confirming her win with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner said she had never won anything in her life.
“The win is just wonderful,” she exclaimed.
“I’ve never won anything big before. It’s a very nice surprise!
“I’m a relatively new player to Lucky Lotteries. I guess it is the game for me.
“I even went out and purchased another entry in the upcoming draw.”
When asked what she planned to do with a spare $200,000, the Bathurst resident instantly thought of purchasing a new set of wheels.
“I’m definitely going to purchase a new car and even refurbish my unit. I’ve been wanting to for a very long time.
“I might even celebrate with my family, and there are a lot of us!
“I must settle down with my prize though. I’m getting too carried away from excitement.
“It’s a very nice feeling."
The 1st Prize-winning entry was purchased at Kelso Newsagency, Shop 5 Centrepoint Shopping Plaza, Boyd Street.
Kelso Newsagency Duty Manager Sally Curry said she was pleased for the local winner.
“This is such great news!
“We’ve had a lot of people coming in to check their tickets. It has kept us busy.
“It’s lovely to see this prize go to one of our regular customers.
