A Findon man confessed he couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked up to see his numbers drawn one after the other in a recent Keno draw, bagging him an incredible $1.5 million windfall.

The South Australian scored the $1,511,842.30 Keno Spot 10 jackpot in draw 832, drawn 24 September 2022.

Confirming his life-enhancing win with an official from Keno today, the elated man shared he’d be setting his sights on retirement and living the life he’s always dreamed of.

“I couldn’t believe it! I looked at the screen and thought, ‘My goodness, there’s a few of my numbers there,’ and then I realised I’d won!” he said.

“I just went into shock. My whole body was shaking!

“I’ve never felt like that before.

“Retirement was always on the horizon, but now it’s a hell of a lot closer to being a reality.

“It’s life-changing. This win will set me up for the rest of my life!

“I couldn’t be happier.”

The winning entry was purchased at Westside Newsagency, Shop 7, 188-200 Findon Road, Findon.

Westside Newsagency owner Modi Mehul said it was incredibly exciting to have sold a major prize-winning entry.

“We are over the moon for our winning customer,” they said.

“It’s a fantastic feeling, and we know it’s going to change their life.

“Congratulations, and good luck for the future!”

In FY22, there were more than 4.58 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $97.6 million.  This included 36 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $7.27 million.

The Spot 10 prize was won four times during this period – a $2.46 million prize won by a player at the Britannia Hotel in Norwood, Adelaide.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 10 prize, a player must match all 10 of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
