A young man in his 20s from Glenelg North has confessed to a sleepless night after discovering he is now $1 million richer from scoring division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw.
The Adelaide man held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 3890, drawn Monday 29 July 2019. Each winner takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Sharing his joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning, the man recounted how he discovered his life-changing win.
“I got an email to say I had won, but I thought I’d only won $14,” he explained.
“I checked again and realised that was the ticket price, and I’d actually won $1 million!
“It was unbelievable. I couldn’t get my head around it.
“I really just needed to hear confirmation today for it to seem real.
“I did not sleep at all last night!”
The happy winner confessed he only played lotteries sporadically.
“It’s actually only the second time I’ve bought an entry on the app!” he laughed.
“I’ve bought a few in shops too, but I don’t play that often.
“When I called my parents to tell them I had won, they couldn’t believe it.
“They’ve been playing every week for years.
“They admitted they are a bit jealous but they were really happy for me.
“Hopefully my good luck rubs off on them and they will win the big one soon!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his new millionaire status, the generous youngster said he would help those closest to him.
“I was awake all night thinking about how I could use the money,” he said.
“I think I’ll be able to help out some people pay off their mortgages and I’ll invest some.
“I already have a holiday booked next year so this will make it even better!”
