A Melton mum who scored a $4.8 million prize in the weekend’s Set for Life draw has revealed her son once dreamt she’d win the lottery one day.
The Victorian held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2480 on Saturday 21 May 2022. She takes home a $4.8 million prize paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
When an official from The Lott broke the news to the winner, she burst out laughing.
“No kidding! Twenty thousand dollars a month for 20 years?” she said.
“You know what, my son had a dream a few years ago. He woke up one morning and said, ‘I had dream about you. You won $15 million’.
“So it was predicted, but he just got the figure wrong.
“This is amazing. I’m still living in the land of I don’t believe it!
“I’m really, really excited. Confused, excited, everything!
“It’s really mind-boggling.”
The loving mum declared she would share her prize with the family members who inspired her entry.
“I normally play a four-game entry using family birthdates, and the whole family will benefit from this prize,” she said.
“I was wanting to go on a trip overseas next year. I wasn’t sure how to finance it, so this is very handy. I might keep going around the world!”
Her winning marked 4-game entry was purchased at Melton Lotto & TSG, 293 High Street, Melton.
Melton Lotto & TSG owner Phong Thai said he was excited to continue his outlet’s winning streak.
“We’ve had four division one wins since 2021, so we’ve done it again! There must be some magic in the store. My customers call me Mr Lucky and it’s great to hit another jackpot,” he said.
“Customers will be pumped, happy and excited! They’ll also be eager to be our next major winner.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2480 on Saturday 21 May 2022 were 15, 5, 24, 31,1, 22 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 29.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2480 – the entry from Victoria.
This marks the 99th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the eighth Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
