Flowers, coffee and chocolate is how a South Melbourne couple plan to celebrate winning an incredible $60 million in last night’s Powerball draw, explaining they feel as though they’re in a dream.

The Victorian entry was the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1327 on 21 October 2021.

The win is Victoria’s second-biggest ever lottery prize. In August this year, a north Melbourne dad took home $80 million – the state’s biggest individual lottery win.

When speaking to an official from The Lott to confirm their prize this afternoon, the overwhelmed husband revealed they had discovered their mind-blowing prize shortly after the draw but had taken time to let it sink in.

“It’s fantastic news!” the winning man laughed.

“I found out last night while I was watching TV with my wife. We knew straight after the draw that we had won. We were screaming and crying.

“It was just disbelief. It was amazing. We’ve just been trying to calm down ever since.

“I am feeling amazing, we both are. It has been a very tough year for us – really horrible. But this changes everything!

“It’s a dream come true! We’ve been fantasising about this moment and now it’s here and we’re multi-millionaires.

“This changes everything for us. We feel very, very grateful.

“I love it! This feels like a dream.

“Today we will celebrate by getting some chocolate, flowers and coffee, and we’ll go out for a beautiful dinner tonight.”

While still coming to terms with their new multi-millionaire status, the couple revealed they already had plenty of plans for their prize.

“I want to pay off the home loan and some debts we have,” he continued.

“We’re looking at retiring, and of course we’ll help the kids.  And we’ll have some good holidays, both interstate and overseas.

“We’ll definitely buy a new car and we’d love to eventually buy a new house.

“This is going to make things so much easier. It’s life-changing!”

The winning entry was sold at Market Lotto & News, Stall 121-122, South Melbourne Market, South Melbourne.

Market Lotto & News owners Chris and Ana Haritos said they were ecstatic to have sold another division one winning entry.

“This is the first time in my life I’ve sold an entry like this!” Chris exclaimed.

“We’ve sold two TattsLotto division one winning entries in recent years, but this $60 million prize is out of this world! This is the ultimate prize.

“We’ve just finished renovating and it’s funny as every time we renovate or relocate, we sell a division one winning entry soon after. And we did again!

“We’d love to send our congratulations to the couple. We wish our winners all the very best and hope they truly enjoy this life-changing prize.”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1327 on Thursday 21 October 2021 were 7, 17, 11, 28, 30, 2, 27. The all-important Powerball number was 11.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1327 – the entry from Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 365 so far this calendar year, including 134 won by Tatts customers.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 17 Powerball division one winners across Australia pocketed more than $519.8 million in prize money.

During this time, Powerball twice offered an $80 million jackpot – the biggest prize offered by any Australian lottery game.

Of the 17 Powerball division one winning entries in FY21, 10 landed in New South Wales, five in Queensland and two in Victoria.
