Eight friends from South Yarra are raising their glasses in celebration after their long-standing syndicate delivered a remarkable $1.2 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Melburnians held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4553, drawn Saturday 8 March 2025. Each entry looks forward to $1,262,948.41.

The private syndicate leader shared the group of friends had been running their TattsLotto syndicate for more than two decades.

“Thank you! Thank you! The ticket is in my wallet, under lock and keys,” he joked.

“I’ve shared the news with the rest of the group, which consists of eight of us, and I’ve never heard that many people say, ‘I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it!”.

“We started this tradition about 25 years ago. We all decided to contribute around $10 a week to a TattsLotto ticket and have done so ever since.

“Each member also chose their favourite number and put it on the ticket. We’ve had people come and go, but we’ve always had people wanting to be in the syndicate.

“We tried to host a celebration, but someone in the group said, ‘Hang on! Let’s wait until we receive the prize’, so we’re holding off on celebrations, but we will celebrate eventually.

“We’re all very excited. Thank you!”

Their winning marked System entry was purchased at 3C Easy South Yarra, 124A Toorak Road, South Yarra.

3C Easy South Yarra owner Michelle Fan said she was absolutely thrilled when she first heard her outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.

“It’s such an incredible feeling to know that we’ve helped change someone's life, and that we’ve played a small part in making it happen!” she shared.

“We’ve started to decorate the shop with posters and signs announcing the division one winning ticket being sold at our outlet. We’ve also shared the exciting news on our social media to let everyone know.

“Our customers will be thrilled knowing they’re visiting a lucky shop, and they might believe our outlet has good fortune. Some might even make a special trip to buy their tickets from our store!

“Congratulations to our winners! May this win bring you joy, freedom and the opportunity to fulfil your dreams. Thank you for choosing our shop to be a small part of your journey.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4553 on 8 March 2025 were 28, 18, 38, 2, 16 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 4.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 332 so far in FY25, including 123 won by Tatts customers.
