A Sunbury man has finally cracked open the bottle of scotch he’d been saving for a special occasion after winning more than $797,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victorian held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4181, drawn Saturday 14 August 2021. Each division one winning entry took home a $797,532.27 prize.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the jubilant winner said he was on cloud nine following his division one discovery.
“Thank you so much! I already knew I’d won division one because I have a bit of a habit of checking the winning numbers in the paper first thing on a Sunday morning,” he explained.
“I was very excited when I found out. It’s a big win!
“It’s quite overwhelming thinking about all of this money and what to do with it.
“I’d always dreamed of winning division one but never actually expected it to happen.
“It’s going to do wonders for my life. It’s just wonderful!
“It’s a life-changing win for me. I’ve been through some tough years, so it’s really come at a fantastic time, so thank you so much.
“I had some of my special scotch, which I’d been saving, to mark the occasion and then I am going to invite my family over for a big celebration once lockdown is over. I am looking forward to it!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his division one win, the overjoyed winner thought of his family first.
“I’m going to have to sit down and really work out what to do with it,” he shared.
“I suppose at this stage, all I’ve really decided is that I will help out my family and invest some.”
The winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at Lottery Rosenthal Village, Shop T1 Rosenthal Village, 90 Vineyard Road, Sunbury.
Lottery Rosenthal Village team member Karen Vandeloo said the entire team wished their winner endless happiness with his prize.
“It’s the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry, so we’re very excited,” she said.
“We are decorating the store with balloons and other decorations and sharing the news with all of our customers.
“All of our customers will be hoping they’re next to win division one.
“We wish our winner all the very best. We hope you have endless success.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4181 on 14 August 2021 were 9, 13, 19, 3, 28 and 24, while the supplementary numbers were 29 and 35.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4181 – four from Victoria, two from Queensland and one each from New South Wales and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 288 so far this calendar year, including 111 won by Tatts customers.
In 2020, TattsLotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in TattsLotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
