A Sunnybank woman can’t wipe the smile off her face as she imagines how she’ll enjoy a spare $50,000 after scratching one of the top prizes on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning $4 Cash Words ticket was purchased at Myer News and Gifts, Shop 080, Level E, Myer Centre, 91 Queen Street Mall, Brisbane City.
Sharing her excitement with a Golden Casket official this morning, the woman recalled the moment she became an instant winner.
“I was sitting there, scratching the ticket and thought I had won something but I really wasn’t sure. I certainly didn’t think I’d won one of the top prizes,” she explained.
“I probably checked it about 10 times to know for sure and then I made my friends check it over and over again.
“It was unbelievable and incredibly exciting!”
The Queenslander revealed her prize would go a long way as she prepares to embark on a new career.
“I’m just about to start studying at TAFE,” she said.
“So this will certainly cover my tertiary fees and more!”
Myer News and Gifts manager Mani Singh said he was thrilled to know one of his customers was $50,000 richer.
“This is great news,” he said.
“We’ve sold division one winning entries here before but this is the first top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket we’ve sold in a little while.
“We’re so happy for our customer and hope she really enjoys her prize and puts it to great use!”
In 2018, 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners collectively took home more than $14.26 million.
During this same time, 25,716,051 winners pocketed more than $205.8 million across all Instant Scratch-Its prize tiers.
