A man from Swan Hill is still reeling from the discovery he is now a millionaire after a routine trip to grab some groceries yielded a division one win.

The thrilled winner was one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3805 on 3 October 2018. Each entry takes home a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

The winning entry was not registered to a Tatts Card so Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news and had to wait until the winner came forward to claim their prize.

When speaking with a Tatts official this afternoon to confirm his win, the winner recounted how he discovered the dream-come-true news.

“I didn’t even know I had won until I was walking through the shopping centre to grab some groceries and remembered to scan my ticket,” he explained.

“It was just lovely!

“I’ve been playing pretty regularly over the years. I usually play a small entry in most games to keep the dream of winning alive.

“When I was at the outlet, after I had found out I had won, I intended to buy an entry into last night’s draw but I didn’t as I am happy with what I won! I didn’t want to be greedy!”

Yet, the winner revealed he intended to keep playing regularly.

“Who knows? If I win again it will mean I’ll be able to help more people somewhere along the line!” he said.

When asked how he planned to spend his Monday & Wednesday Lotto windfall, the happy bloke declared he already had plans on how to spend the win.

“You betcha! We have always wanted to see more of Australia so we’ll start there!” he declared.

“It’s a big relief! Just fantastic! We can help our kids and a few other bits and pieces. It will be good!

“It took a while to convince the wife and kids I had won but they believe me now. It’s just excellent!”

The winning entry was purchased at Swan Hill Newsagency, 212 Campbell Street, Swan Hill.

It is the second division one winning entry Swan Hill Newsagency has sold this year. In May, a Swan Hill woman said her heart was pumping furiously after discovering the news she had won $461,555.44 in a TattsLotto draw.

Swan Hill Newsagency owner Deborah Edelsten said she was excited to have sold a second division one winning entry in just five months.

“It’s absolutely thrilling!” she exclaimed.

“I’ve put posters up in the store and been telling everyone who comes in to check their tickets we’ve sold another winner.

“We are so pleased the winner has been united with their prize!”

So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto have created 142 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3805 on Wednesday 3 October 2018 were 34, 17, 45, 8, 6 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 24.

Across Australia there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3805 – one each from Victoria and Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 299 so far this calendar year, including 123 won by Tatts customers.

Last financial year, there were 73 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $73 million.
