A generous Cairns man looks forward to sharing his good fortune with his friends and family after winning $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The Far North Queenslander won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10601, drawn Wednesday 29 June 2022.

The joyful father was oblivious to the winning news until The Lott officials reached out to him this morning.

“Oh my, I’ve won $100,000?!” he cheered in disbelief.

“I was on another phone call when you called, and I’d mistaken your call for a scam call.

“They’re usually the only ones that call me around this time of day.

“You certainly weren’t a scam call.

“I’ll be sharing this incredible news with my wife the second we hang up!

“I’m sorry that I’m not the kind of man to shout it from the rooftops, but I do feel really good. This is going to come in handy!

“I have some payments I’d like to finalise, and a family trip coming up.

“My daughters and wife have joked that I should take them on shopping sprees for their birthday.  It looks like the girls may get just that!” he chuckled.

“You better tell the lads, I’m shouting them some beers on Friday too!”

The winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $11.57 million for draw 1579, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $17.50 million for draw 10602.

In 2021, 127 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by a Coolangatta man who a Mega Jackpot prize of $9.41 million in May.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
