$23 million Powerball prize claimed: Endless travel on the horizon for Narre Warren man

Five days after the draw, lottery officials were overjoyed when a Narre Warren man discovered he was the missing Powerball multi-millionaire they had been searching for.

The Melbourne local held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Powerball draw 1249, drawn Thursday 23 April 2020, scoring the division one prize of $23,686,120.08.

When speaking with officials from the Lott to confirm his win, the shocked man revealed he had just ducked out to grab some lunch when he checked his ticket.

“This just can’t be right. I didn’t expect this news!” he exclaimed.

“I’m sitting in my car shaking. I think I’ll have to sit here for a while to calm down before I drive home.”

The mystery winner is Australia’s third Powerball division one winner for 2020.

Charters Towers woman cries tears of joy after receiving $1.9 million Mother’s Day gift

After jackpotting for the first time since 2016, last weekend’s special $8 million Saturday Lotto draw delivered big for Aussies across the country, with five winning entries scoring a huge $1.9 million each.

Among them was a hardworking small business owner from Charters Towers who cried tears of joy after discovering the Saturday Gold Lotto ticket her daughter sent her for Mother’s Day had scored her the division one prize.

“Oh my goodness. This couldn’t have come at a better time!” she declared through happy tears.

“I own a small business and we’ve had to shut down due to coronavirus so it has been really tough.

“I was getting really worried that I’d have to close for good, but this just means I won’t have to! What a relief!

Adelaide Hills man’s boredom completely busted after $50,000 Instant Scratch-Its win

An Adelaide Hills man was happy to discover the Instant Scratch-Its ticket he purchased as a boredom buster did more than just that after he scratched a top prize worth $50,000 on a $4 Big Cheese Bingo ticket.

“I play Instant Scratch-Its quite often, whenever I have a bit of change in my pocket,” he said.

“I’ve never won anything like this before! It’s an added bonus of them helping me pass the time.”

Zero Childhood Cancer continues fight to help seriously ill kids with $600,000 donation

A world-leading personalised medicine program being developed in Australia to save children battling aggressive cancer received a $600,000 boost this week.

The donation from the Lott, the home of Australia’s official lotteries, includes some Golden Casket unclaimed prize money.

The Zero Childhood Cancer Program is Australia’s first personalised medicine program and is focussed on saving children diagnosed with cancer who have been given a less than a 30% chance of survival.

The program is giving new hope to families and children going through an unimaginable ordeal. The $600,000 contribution will be used to fund the national clinical trial which will see 400 children join by the end of the year— a hopeful step forward in the fight against childhood cancer.
