A Ballarat mum has unwrapped the ultimate Christmas gift from her beloved son – a $2.14 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Central Highlands resident held one of the 14 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4535, drawn Saturday 4 January 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $2,142,857.15.
If the winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have been alerted to their good fortune immediately after the draw.
Instead, officials from The Lott had been eagerly waiting for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.
“Oh my god! Thank you very much!” the winner exclaimed when her prize was confirmed.
“I saw in the local paper that Lucas Gifts & Lotto sold a division one winning entry in TattsLotto and that they were searching for the winner.
“I remembered that I was gifted a TattsLotto ticket from my son for Christmas, and I thought I’d give it a bell.
“I haven’t told my son yet because I wanted to confirm if it was true, and oh my god, it is! I wasn’t expecting this at all.
“I don’t normally even play, but my husband plays Powerball and Set for Life.
“How fantastic.”
With more than $2.14 million about to change the course of her 2025, the winning mum shared she would pay off her mortgage and treat her husband.
“I’ll definitely pay off the house. That will be the first thing I’ll do!” she said.
“My husband wants a new tractor, so I’ll get that.”
Her winning entry was purchased at Lucas Gifts & Lotto, Kiosk 1, Coltman Plaza Shopping Centre, Lucas.
Lucas Gifts & Lotto manager Colleen Porter said selling another division one winning entry had created such a great buzz in her store.
“We’re very pleased to have sold another division one winning entry! This is our second division one winner in the last three years,” she said.
“Our customers love to hear of a division one winner and where they buy their tickets from.
“We last sold a division one winning entry back in April 2022 in a Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw. The winner took home a cool $1 million.
“A big congratulations to the winner and what a time to win in the Megadraw! We hope the winner spends it wisely and now will be able to do what they have always dreamed of.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4535 on 4 January 2025 were 33, 19, 8, 23, 10 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 42 and 13.
