The Glitter Strip has continued to sparkle with two multi-million-dollar prizes landing on the Gold Coast in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.

The Gold Coast players held two of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, draw 4011 on Saturday 28 December 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $2,727,272.73.

This morning a sleepless Ormeau mum contacted Golden Casket to confirm the news after checking her life-changing entry last night.

“Thank you,” she laughed.

“I’m honestly still processing it. It’s such a crazy feeling!

“I’d seen a news article saying there was a mystery winner from Ormeau and after being at the beach all day I checked my ticket late last night.

“I didn’t believe it at first of course and I got no sleep!

“I only play lottery games very rarely, I bought the ticket last minute when I went to the shops to get bread. I wasn’t expecting to win anything!

“I really can’t believe it. It is just insane.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her $2.7 million win, the mum said it would set up her young family for the future.

“We’ve got a mortgage so we will definitely be paying that off to begin with,” she said.

“I’ve always dreamt of going to America, so that’s on the top of the list!

“Then after that we will just have to wait and see. There will be a lot less stress, that’s for sure!

“This has completely changed our lives!”

The overwhelmed Ormeau winner purchased her 36-game QuickPick entry at Ormeau Village Newsagency, Shop 6, 37-59 Eggersdorf Road, Ormeau.

Ormeau Village Newsagency owner Manu Grewal said he couldn’t believe he sold a division one winning entry so soon after his outlet’s opening.

“We only opened our doors five months ago and then on Saturday night I saw that we’d done it!” he exclaimed.

“It’s such good news. It’s so exciting and it’s just the beginning. We can’t wait to sell many more division one winning entries.

“We wish our winning customer all the very best with their fantastic prize.”

Nerang man scores division one for the second time

People dream of winning the lottery once but a Nerang man has scored a division one prize for the second time.

Confirming his Megadraw millions with a Golden Casket official this morning, the Gold Coast player described himself as the luckiest man alive.

“Thank you very much,” he laughed.

“You probably won’t believe it, but I have won division one before!

“Only a few years ago I shared a million-dollar winning syndicate with my friend.

“Now I’m a multi-millionaire. It’s unbelievable.

“I think I am the luckiest man alive!

“I’m still dizzy after checking my ticket last night. I think I am still in shock.”

The now multi-millionaire revealed he’d use his prize to cut down on work and travel the world with his wife.

“I think we will start with a holiday to New Zealand,” he declared.

“Then a cruise and who knows what else!

“Maybe we will fly business class. It will be incredible!”

The Nerang man purchased his winning entry at Ashmore News Extra, Shop 48, Ashmore Plaza, 146 Cotlew Street, Ashmore.

Ashmore News Extra owner Alex Coniglio said he was thrilled to discover his store had sold another division one winning entry.

“This has created such an exciting buzz in store and in our community,” he explained.

“We are so proud to have sold this life-changing ticket and very glad that it’s gone to a local.

“Congratulations to our winner we hope this will create many happy moments for them in the future.”
