NSW Lotteries officials have called off the search for a Dubbo player who won $4.92 million in last week’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

After a week-long hunt for the winner, a young local mum has come forward to claim the life-changing bounty.

Confirming her win with a NSW Lotteries official this afternoon, the woman revealed she’d been joking with her family that she was the winner we’d been searching for.

“Oh my god! I just can’t believe it!” she cried with joy.

“I just can’t believe it!

“We just went for a ride and I popped into the newsagency to grab the paper for my dad and I thought I’d better check my ticket!

“Earlier this week, I told my children that I had bought a ticket from that newsagency and I joked saying ‘wouldn’t you die if it was actually you’!

“Thank you! Thank you so much!”

The generous mum didn’t need long to think about how she’d use her prize, saying her family and local community would benefit.

“Honestly I don’t need that much money! I would have been happy with a couple of thousand dollars,” she laughed.

“I’d already won the lottery with a beautiful family!

“But I’m going to help my kids and set them up for life.

“And I’m going to donate a lot.

“It’s been a tough few years and I just don’t believe it.

“I will be able to do so much good with this. There’s so many people I can help!

“I went to a fortune teller once and she told me that I’d never need to worry about money.  Maybe this is what she meant!

“I still work but my bloody oath, struth, I’ll be retiring!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning ticket at Talbragar Street Newsagency, 93-95 Talbragar Street, Dubbo.

Talbragar Street Newsagency owner Peter Snare said he was over-the-moon to hear his customer had checked their ticket and realised their good fortune.

“There’s been so much excitement in store over this win!” he said.

“We’ve sold 41 major prizes in 34 years!

“I’ve been calling myself Lucky Pete! And now we’ve really cleaned up!

“We’re over-the-moon for our customer!

“It’s great to see this prize has gone to a local and now they can go on to enjoy their life with their family and friends!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $58.36 million for draw 1290 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $630,000 for draw 10286.
