A Cessnock man can’t wait to call his wife and break the news they’re now more than $100,000 richer after winning the 1st Prize in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10347, drawn Thursday 30 January 2020.
As well as winning the 1st Prize, the man also won a consolation prize of $2,000, boosting his total prize to $102,000.
A NSW Lotteries official called the winner this morning to break the news, who had no idea he’d won more than $100,000.
“Oh my god!” he laughed.
“Sh*t, are you serious?
“Oh my sh*t!
“I can’t believe this!
“I was just heading to the newsagency to check my ticket.
“God I am in shock. I can’t process anything right now I am so sorry! I am just so shocked.
“This is bloody amazing!
“I can’t wait to call my wife and tell her! We will certainly be celebrating tonight.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the surprised man knew exactly what he wanted to do.
“We will pay off the house and we might go on a big holiday somewhere near the beach,” he explained.
“I’d love to just take a few weeks off to relax.”
The entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased at Cessnock Plaza News & Gifts, Shop 16-17 Cessnock Plaza, 1 Keene Street, Cessnock.
Cessnock Plaza News & Gifts manager Sarah Pascoe said the outlet was celebrating making one of their customers more than $100,000 richer.
“It’s fantastic news!” she said.
“We haven’t sold a major prize in a while, so we feel like our winning streak is back.
“It’s such brilliant news for the store and the community.
“We’re celebrating and sharing the news with all of our customers!
“We are so happy for our winner and we wish him all the best with his prize.
“We can’t wait to sell some more major prize winning entries.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1 million for draw 1477 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.19 million for draw 10348.
